Thank you for the detailed information and helping clear up the difference between frufrudog problem and the SHA thing.

I think I'm going to go at this in stages:
1. Get the intermediate and ssl certs recreated as SHA1 then install them so we have that hole covered for a couple of years.
2. Revisit the FP status and get Poodle handled even though I'm not sure it really affects us.
3. Plan and execute an upgrade to 9.0.x.
4. Use SHA2 certs on the 9.0.x server.
